Nella primavera del 2022, il Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR), l’associazione Binario Vivo – Teatro Nuovo di Pisa e il Para Film & Teater di Oslo si sono aggiudicati un finanziamento del programma europeo CREATIVE EUROPE per il progetto “Expanding Theatre Landscapes” (ETL)
Il progetto ha come fine la produzione di tre opere teatrali – una in bosniaco, una in norvegese e una in italiano – scritte partendo da “Sei personaggi in cerca di autore” di Pirandello. L’idea del classico pirandelliano verrà rovesciata e quindi troveremo “sei attori in cerca di personaggi reali”, dove gli attori decideranno che, perché fare teatro abbia ancora senso, dovranno mettersi in cerca di personaggi reali e farsi raccontare le loro storie.
Ed è così che le tre realtà teatrali Bosniaca, Italiana e Norvegese hanno portato gli attori fuori dalla loro confort zone, nei campi rifugiati bosniaci, in cerca dei loro “personaggi”, lavorando quindi concretamente con i rifugiati allo sviluppo del progetto, e cercando un modo per coinvolgere direttamente i rifugiati negli spettacoli sul palco.
“…My dream with this project is to transform a play into an activist action into a political statement. Could we as theatre makers go into a refuges-camp, win the trust of six people, help them to find a language to tell their stories, and ultimately use theatre to help them out of the camp? Could we bring the refugees to the theatre? Transforming the performance and its audience into a small act of rebellion? Rebellion to the rules that stop humans from freely move on this planet? And if we are finally able to find these people willing to share, and find a form to present their stories in a theatre space and ultimately bring them outside of the refugee camp to tell their stories, can we travel with them on tour from Bosnia to the EU? Can we help them enter the European Union by playing theatre? Can we eventually let them free while touring in the countries that they wish to reach How can theatre approach such people with respect and find a way to help them speak their truth? Can theatre do this? Or the moment something from reality enters theatre loses its connection with the world?”

Porteremo i rifugiati che lavoreranno con noi nell’Europa che stanno cercando di raggiungere? Riusciremo ad innescare un meccanismo di “attivismo teatrale” continuando a fare arte? oppure dovremo trovare un’altra strada per far interagire il teatro con la realtà sia in senso artistico che in senso politico?

APRILE 2023 LA RICERCA, a Sarajevo e campi profughi
I tre drammaturghi, italiano, norvegese e bosniaco dovranno ora scrivere i testi.
Le prime delle tre opere andranno in scena nella primavera 2024 a Sarajevo nella stessa settimana come tre capitoli della stessa trilogia. E poi raggiungeranno i propri paesi, e poi….
